May 26th, 2009, More Than Just A Walk In The Park…
After spending the weekend celebrating birthdays, getting together with friends and family, honoring our nation’s service men and women, attending church, and fitting in the usual family responsibilities, I was brought back to reality on Tuesday morning … back to work, talk radio, FOX News, checking my e-mails, surfing the web, and updating the blog (I still do plenty of other things, too, it's not all work and no play!) To many, my list of weekend activities may seem more interesting than those I tackle during the work week, but, not to me. I tackle them all with whole hearted enthusiasm and genuine commitment. I feel I can no longer passively stand by and watch the changes Obama’s presidency is bringing to this nation and I shutter to think about the effects his policies will have on the current and future welfare and prosperity of my family, friends, our country, and the world. There is no time to waste; policy changes are occurring at an unprecedented rate. Take today, for example: Obama announced his selection for Supreme Court Justice, California’s court upheld Proposition 8, North Korea continued its nuclear testing, and Iran refused to cooperate with Western nations on nuclear disarmament and blamed the United States for forcing them to take this stand. These examples are only a few of the many monumental events that are popping up daily inside and outside our borders, all of which require informed decision making and present difficult choices; decisions and choices that have the potential to bring long standing, life altering consequences now and long into the future. That is why I am working hard to stay informed, to learn more, to seek answers, to pray for this country, to participate in the decision making process by exercising my inalienable rights, and by encouraging others to get involved by doing things, such as, creating a grass roots group, joining party affiliates, and maintaining this blog. I urge you all to read this blog and/or other news sources regularly, to make comments, to get involved in your community, and to speak out with a compassionate voice that echoes your love for, and commitment to, this great country. Do this for your family, God, and country. Thank you from the founder of Women for Family, God, and Country
